A criminal background check is required for all staff.  The background check includes a Central Registry check through the Department of Family Services, a local background check as well as a criminal background check conducted by the state through a fingerprint check  

 NEW HIRE TRAINING INCLUDES AN INITIAL 40 HOURS OF:

  • CPR/1ST AID TRAINING
  • CRISIS PREVENTION INTERVENTION
  • MEDICATION MONITORING TRAINING
  • EFFECTIVE TEACHING TECHNIQUES
  • EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
  • ASSET JOB TRAINING
  • PROTECTION AND ADVOCACY TRAINING
  • BASIC HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING
  • PROGRAM/DOCUMENTATION/REPORT WRITING
  • AN ADDITIONAL 24 HOURS OF TRAINING IS REQUIRED PER YEAR FOR EACH EMPLOYEE

Provide supervision, support, meaningful training experiences, and opportunities for individual growth at community work sites.
 
Direct Care Professional (Day services)                                                                                          Location: As assigned         Full time                  Salary range: $10.00 hour DOE
 PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to ensure care, welfare, safety and security to individuals with developmental disabilities and brain injuries.  Direct Care Professionals provide effective supervision, individual training and group facilitation. Direct Care Professionals may be required to assist individuals with restroom duties, cooking and eating of food, budgeting of money and various other duties as assigned. Direct Care Professionals ensure the implementation of meaningful activities and training opportunities Direct Care Professionals are to provide documentation of incidences, health and safety practices and program information in adherence with company policies, practices and local, state, federal and CARF standards.
